Parent/Student Transition Night

GOAL: Empower and engage students, families, educators, and stakeholders of students with disabilities in their journey to adulthood.
FOCUS: Provide participants with information on the transition process for students ages 14-21 in the areas of living, learning, and working.
- Panel discussion with local service providers
- Opportunities for individuals/families to speak privately with service providers to gain more information
Are you thinking about helping your child transition from high school to adulthood? Are you wondering what opportunities are available to him/her? Are you wondering what financial assistance might be available to him/her? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, we have an opportunity for you!
On Thursday, March 10th from 6:30-7:30 p.m., we will hold a Transition Workshop in the Van Buren High School music room. This workshop will include information from local service providers in a panel format. Following the informational panel, students and parents will have the opportunity to speak to service providers from whom they would like to gain more information.
Some of the providers who will be attending are:
- Great Prairie Area Education Agency
- Van Buren Job Opportunities
- SE Iowa Case Management
- Indian Hills Community College- RISE Program
- Vocational Rehabilitation Services
- Job Corp
