Board Policy information:
The purpose of a statement of policy is twofold. First, to help the patrons of Van Buren County, Van Buren Community, and Harmony Community Schools better understand the purpose and operation of their schools. Second, to assist school employees in understanding better their duties, responsibilities, and privileges in the local school.
Board policies prescribe in general terms the organization and program of a school system. The policies specify the framework within which the administrators and staff can discharge their duties in a positive manner.
Board policies, in written form, available to all staff members responsible to the Board of Directors, should promote more confidence in a more efficient school operation. The policies of the local board are prepared in the interest of and for the enlightenment of all citizens in the Van Buren Community School District.
