Activities/ Accomplishments
2010-2011 School Year
• Santa’s workshop: 1326 items went home with students for their families
• Field trips provided for each class who requested funding:
o Kindergarten = Kathy’s Pumpkin Patch
o First Grade = roller skating & Fairfield airport
o Second Grade = Jefferson County Park
o Third Grade = Pearson House, Morris Park & kite flying with Good Samaritan residents
o Fourth Grade = Old Threshers
o Fifth Grade = Civil War Reenactment in Keokuk
• School Year Calendar Magnet – sought donations; coordinated, printed & provided 1000
• Provided treats and staffing for Jump Rope for heart event
• Gravy for Grandparents/ Doughnuts for Dads/ Muffins for Moms – meals for all attending adults at each of these ‘breakfast w/your student’ dates
• Weekly Reader sponsorship continued for all elementary classes
• Funded the CAPS program rewards
• Coordination of all volunteers to staff the CAPS program
• Stocking & sorting of SOS Closet
• Snacks provided for students during ITBS testing
• Sponsored & decorated a tree at Festival of Trees
• Provided a meal for staff twice during parent/teacher conferences
• Provided staffing for the Book Fair fundraiser for the library during Fine Arts night and during school days that week
• Funding for the library to purchase new books not available through the book fair
• Donation of materials and funding for school garden
• Coordinated and sponsored 2 days with Fonziba: the African Drumming instructor
• Handwritten appreciation notes & gift cards for all instructors & paraprofessionals
• Coloring pages and crayons for kindergarteners during kindergarten round up
• Coordination of annual elementary memory book; sold at minimal cost
• Funding for bird houses constructed during Summer Enrichment/Summer Camp
• Sponsored renewal of Enchanted Learning website
Fundraisers included:
• Fall fundraiser (Joe Corbi this year)
• Sweatshop “spirit” clothing sales
• Bake sale at Festival of Trees
• Flower Power flower/bulb sales in Spring
• Smencil sales all year
