Read a Million (Minion) Minutes 2016-2017 Schoolwide Reading Challenge
Parents, please encourage and help your child participate. Our goal is to read 1,000,000 minutes by the end of the school year. Time counted can be reading done at home or at school. Preschoolers and kindergarten students can count time they spend listening to someone else read to them.
Students will set their own reading goal. At least 20 minutes daily is suggested for grades 3 and up.
Recording calendars will be sent home the first week of school. Look for a note from your child’s teacher telling when calendars are due.
We ask that you verify your child’s reading at home by initialing the calendar before turning it in so minutes can be counted.
The first reward: Watch teachers do camp relays!
Why should you encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes a day?
